Chocolate Protein Hummus

- 1 can chickpeas (15.5oz) drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter or almond butter
- 3 tablespoons cocoa power
- ¼ cup EarthChimp chocolate protein powder
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch sea salt
- ¾ cup plant-based milk (soy is great to increase the protein!)
Blend the base. In a food processor or high-speed blender, combine the drained chickpeas, peanut or almond butter, cocoa powder, protein powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
Add the milk gradually. With the processor running, slowly pour in the plant-based milk until the mixture reaches a smooth, creamy consistency. Scrape down the sides as needed.
Taste and adjust. Taste your hummus and add a little more maple syrup or a pinch more salt if needed.
Serve and enjoy. Transfer to a bowl and enjoy as a dip with fruit, spread on toast, or dollop on oatmeal or pancakes for a chocolatey protein boost!
