5 Minute General Tso's Sauce

At home takeout? YES PLEASE. This sauce takes less than 5 minutes and 10 ingredients to make. Take care of that takeout craving without the added oils and money spent! Stores great in the fridge and perfect to have on hand for an easy dinner or meal prepping! Recipe makes about 2 ¼ cups

- 1 inch ginger finely grated
- 3 cloves garlic finely grated or minced
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoon tomato paste
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoon coconut sugar sub brown sugar
- ¼-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, to taste
In a small sauce pan over low heat, whisk together all ingredients until well combined and no bits of cornstarch remain.
Increase heat to medium stirring constantly until mixture darkens and begins to thicken, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Use sauce as desired! It's delicious over stir fried veggies, tofu or soy curls and served with rice! Enjoy!
*Leftovers will keep well in the fridge for a week (probably more, but it never lasts in our house!)
