Simple Ingredients for this decadent Chocolate Mocha Mug Cake
Here's what you need ⬇
oat flour {or blended rolled oats}
cacao {or cocoa} powder
coconut sugar {may sub brown or organic cane sugar}
baking powder
applesauce
vanilla extract
strong coffee {you can substitute decaf coffee, water or plant milk}
Simple ingredients, mixed together and microwaved for a chocolatey, gooey, fudgy cake. It doesn't get much easier than that!!

Cake for Breakfast??
Surprise!! You can eat this cake for breakfast! I mean... you could eat any cake for breakfast really. Who's gonna stop you? But you can eat this cake for breakfast AND it will be socially acceptable!!! 😅
It's full of whole-food ingredients and a kick of caffeine. Sounds like the ideal breakfast to me! Plus, if you're eating this for a meal... I'd totally eat the whole thing myself. Who needs to share? It's so easy, everyone can have their own!

Chocolate Mocha Mug Cake
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- ¼ cup oat flour*
- 2 tablespoons cocao powder
- 1½ tablespoons coconut sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- small pinch sea salt
Wet Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons applesauce
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup strong coffee may substitute decaf coffee, water or plant milk
- 2 tablespoons dairy free chocolate chips**
Instructions
- In a mug or microwave safe bowl whisk together dry ingredients.
- Add in wet ingredients and mix till combined, then stir in chocolate chips.
- Microwave for 1 minute 15 seconds to 1 minute and 30 seconds. (Each microwave may vary, start with less time then add more. You want it to look slightly under done in the middle, try not to over cook!)
- Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy!! It will be hot!
