I'm at the point where Buffalo sauce may need to become it's own food group. I love it a little too much. This Crispy Buffalo Tofu is my favorite way to pack in the protein to my meals in a delicious, easy and fun way!
Enjoy it on it's own with a side of celery and some creamy dill dip, or use it as a topped for salads or a grain bowl!

How to make it
Crispy Buffalo Tofu can come together in just a few super simple steps:
- Use your hands to tear the tofu block into bite sized pieces. Tearing will get you a crispier edge then cutting and gives the tofu more "grip" to hold onto the flavors!
- Add tofu to a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Stir well to get the tofu compeltely coated.
- Bake or air fry according to the recipe box below.
- Enjoy as is or toss in some more buffalo sauce!


Serving Suggestions
This is one of my favorite ways to eat tofu and increase my protein intake! It's super easy to just eat this tofu as a snack with a little dip. But if you can manage, try using it in a wrap, salad or in a component bowl!
Air fry or Oven Baked Crispy Buffalo Tofu
While I think the air fryer is the best kitchen appliance for making cooking easy and food like this crispy... this recipe can also be made in the oven!
To make your oven cleanup easier, consider using parchment paper or reusable mats on your baking sheets like the ones linked here!

How to store it
When the tofu is cooled, it can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Rewarm in the microwave or to restore the crispy edges, toss it back in the air fryer at 375F for a few minutes!

Recipe

Crispy Buffalo Tofu
Ingredients
- 1 pound Super Firm Tofu*
- 2 tablespoons Buffalo Style Hot Sauce
- ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
- 2 tablespoons Nutritional Yeast
- 1 tablespoon Corn Starch
- 2-4 tablespoons Buffalo Style Hot Sauce** optional
Instructions
- Tear tofu into bite-sized pieces and add to a large bowl.
- Add 1 tablespoon hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, nutritional yeast, and cornstarch. Mix well until tofu is evenly coated.
Air Fryer Instructions
- Arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 15 minutes at 385°F, shaking halfway through.
- Toss the crispy tofu with the remaining ¼ cup buffalo sauce and air fry for 5 more minutes until hot and crispy.
Oven Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or reusable oven liner.
- Spread tofu evenly on the baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Toss with the remaining ¼ cup buffalo sauce and bake for 5–7 more minutes before serving.
